Doug, at would speed should the brown wax cylinders play at?

Hi Paul, Brown wax cylinders typically vary in the speed that they were recorded. Some very early ones in my collection play best at a speed of only about 100 rpm! And some play well at about 125 rpm. The later brown wax cylinders seem to play well at the commonly accepted speed of about 160 rpm. So, basically, whatever speed makes the recording sound "natural" as though you were watching and listening to the performer in person is what I have found to be the best. Typically, I've found that the earlier the cylinder recording the slower speed but it's not always true. Keep on posting your cylinders! I hope that others here on the Forum will record and post their early brown wax cylinders for us to enjoy. I've posted a few of my early brown wax cylinders on my YouTube channel and for the most part those videos are very much appreciated. There's lots more I'd love to do but it does take time.
