Request for help with RCA Victor RAE-26 restoration item
I have recently acquired an RCA Victor RAE-26 from good friend Chuck Azzalina. Chuck did a great job on restoring the electronics for me and it sound G-R-E-A-T! So it is up to me for the changer work and the cabinet restoration. The changer is working but I will need to clean it for more reliable operation. There is some veneer work on the lid to do but that is nothing out of the ordinary for me since I am a theatre pipe organ restorer. What I do need help with is making a reproduction of the instruction/ tube sheet that is pasted to the bottom of the cabinet in the back. Mine is shot (see attached photo). If any of you guys has a RAE-26 that has a better one of these sheets than mine or really good one, could I please get you to take a dead on photo of it for me and email or text it to me? Thank in advance if you are able to help!
Best regards,

Re: Request for help with RCA Victor RAE-26 restoration ite
Carlton,
I wish I could help you, but I checked mine and there doesn't seem to be a label like that inside mine. Couldn't even find a witness mark.
One thing I would recommend is to never force the arms that raise the record to the top of the stack. The cams which operate them are thin sheet metal and can deform easily. If you attempt to loosen, or tighten, the screw that secures the arms to the vertical shafts, be sure to hold on to the arm and use force against that arm, not the shaft.
Cheers, Russie

The one that's in my machine really isn't in any better shape either. It's odd that they didn't put it on the side of the cabinet, instead of the bottom. It would have stood up better there. Good luck with that quest. Earl.

Carlton,
I will check my RAE-79 tonight, pretty sure the label is in good condition. If the '79 does not have a good label, I will check the RAE-59.
Also,
If interested, here are my restoration notes on both RAE-79 and RAE-59 changer restorations. Both of these changers are identical to your RAE-26 changer. The RAE-68 changer is similar, not identical to these units though.
