Concert Taken over by Phonograph!

Last week we had our annual chamber concert here at the ranch - a string quintet and a tenor out in the barn. We had about 50 guests, and after the concert (in the late afternoon, for the light) we had a potluck out on the lawn. Once things had settled down, I brought out my portables, a VV 50 and an Ortho, and cranked them up. The musicians were as pleased as the audience, several of the younger ones wanted to know where the speakers were - and the thank-you notes have mentioned the Victrolas almost as often as the concert.
