SOLD: Columbia AB Macdonald w/ 5" Grand Record $1875

I am offering a very nice Columbia AB Macdonald for sale here. This one has been well cared for during its 120 or so years. This versatile machine has a removable 5" mandrel. After the mandrel is removed you simply loosen a wingnut and raise the smaller mandrel up to the proper position and tighten the wingnut. You are now ready to play a more common 2 minute cylinder of nearly any make. This example has a beautiful lid/cover and all original decal. The cover alone is a piece of art. The mechanism works great and it retains everything in its original state. The reproducer is the highly desirable "Grand" reproducer. These are correct for the AB but many have been traded out over the years for lesser reproducers. This one is not only beautiful but has been rebuilt and sounds great. It even retains its original cardboard box. It also includes the original Recorder, complete with its cutter and is also in its original box. The 14" aluminum horn is in great shape showing signs of a straightening job at some point in its life but is a stunning match to the machine. The 5" mandrel and its holding thumbscrew/nut are also originals. I am including one 5" Paul Morris reproduction cylinder in like new condition. If you have never heard one of Mr Morris' fine records you need to try one out. I am not willing to ship this setup at this time and prefer to meet at Union unless you are in Florida and we can make other arrangements. Please PM for questions or more pics.
