That’s not an easy one to find. Value depends a lot on the wood and the condition. The VE-130 is nearly identical to a VE-XVII, but much less common. I know that the VV-130 in Oak is extremely rare, and I would expect a VE-130 in Oak to be even more unusual. Next would be American Walnut with Mahogany being the most common. If you do find a nice VE-130 I would think that the price would really depend on what you can afford and how much you want it.

I'd suggest you place a "Wanted" ad in the Trader section of our Forum after reading the guidelines. As someone mentioned in a prior reply, a VV-XVII is nearly identical to a VV-130. Are you open to a XVII?

As for worth, the value depends on condition and type of finish. Mahogany is the most common but oak and walnut were available. Also, the XVII or 130 were available with a Vernis Martin finish if you wish for something rare and expensive.

If it’s oak...offer them $900, but buy it at a grand. If it’s walnut...buy it. If it’s mahogany, it’s worth about $600.

Condition, wood and how much you want it are big factors. If you plan to keep it for ever, market value is less relevant than if you want to recoup your investment at some time. Supply and demand generally determine value. In this case supply is extremely low. How much do you want it and how sure are you that another will come along at a better price and close enough that freight or travel won't make it cost prohibitive? Value sometimes comes down to having more than one person that truly feels that they must have something. A good set of albums would also bring up the value. I generally pay what something is worth to me, not what it is worth in the marketplace, but that’s me. Good luck.

I've said this for years, I have never regretted paying for quality, even if it is more than what the market is currently reflecting. If I want something, I buy it, I've taken losses at times when deciding to trim down the herd; to me that's life, at least I had to enjoyment of a great machine for a time. On the flip side, I've made some wonderful finds for my collection at bargain process, so things even out.

So Circassian was used as late as a VV-130? Or is this where we start the debate between Circassian and highly figured American Walnut? :) Regardless, it's a very attractive machine.
