1916 American Walnut Vic-XVI

This was on Phoenix Craigslist and I spotted it within an hour of it being listed. The seller’s grandparents bought it new in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, and it spent much of its life in Buffalo, New York before coming to Phoenix forty years ago. Thanks to fellow forum members Dustie and Ripduf — and The Yankee Trader — I found two of the three missing albums, and a set of four casters that were missing. Such a beautiful and substantial machine! I stuck an Exhibition on it from another machine because the No.2 that came with it needs to be rebuilt.

I'm not sure whether the reproducer is correct or not. Yet, our walnut XVI came with an Exhibition reproducer as shown below. Ours carries an "H" designation. Cheers, Russie

Those lower doors are really something. Beautiful machine.

I am fortunate enough to own two Victrola's in American walnut. They are my favorites even compared with Circassian pieces which can sometimes be a bit over the top. Very rich looking, especially with all of the gold trim. A bit of furniture wax or polish real brings out the mid brown hues and the dramatic 'shimmering' pattern of the grain.
