Congratulations. How much resistance do you feel when you stop winding? You may just not be winding it enough. I don't live far from Tulsa. I would be willing to look it over for you.

When im winding it, i start to feel some resistance but then i feel and hear a spring give way. Even with this taking place it will still play a full record.

Any idea what model it is?

It could be a broken spring, or hopefully, solidified grease. I'm not familiar enough with Brunswick to give the model.

It should play about three (10-inch) records on a full winding, so most likely the motor will need an overhaul and possible spring replacement, as Phonoboy noted.

It looks like you have a Brunswick model 125, circa 1918.
