I wanted to scan this when OrthoSean and bart1927 got their HMV machines but I couldn't find it. This is from an issue of the Talking Machine Review which was Ernie Bayly's collector's journal in the 70's and 80's. And a good magazine it was.
But back to the machines: they were a good bargain. With the pound at around $5 which was the general exchange rate until the Depression, the 130 would have been $ 52 in oak and $60 in mahogany. The table model Victor Orthophonic 1-90 was $75 I think, and there was no Victor equivalent to the 104 because the 1-70 didn't have an Orthophonic reproducer.

Thanks Jim, I like the way they explained the new design and am surprised to find that small machines had the folded horns as well. I think the small victors do not?

Thanks from me too Jim. Even though Im in HMV territory, I seldom get see any original advertising or literature on their machines.
