The Victrola X (10) sold in large numbers and seems to have been a very popular machine. Like all Victrola's, they were reliable and played well. The Exhibition soundbox was supplied to many models for many years, and is easy to rebuild - with parts available from several sources. Probably that's a good place for you to begin, assuming the motor runs well. Otherwise, lubrication may likely be in order.

I posted these pictures from my phone and when they got uploaded, it seemed fine. They are upright on my phone..

Putting this out here--Derek, the Victrola's owner, is quite proud of his Victrola X. He was asking where to get good 78s of the 1920s and earlier, especially ragtime music...so if anyone here haunts the Trader and has a pile of acoustic 78s to get rid of, let's pass some along at their regular fair market price and set him up.

Derek, I'd accommodate you, but we're remodeling. I can't even GET to my own Victrola right now. There's stuff piled on the lid and the records are everywhere.

About pricing the records for these things--quality 78s of rare titles are expensive, but quality common titles are cheap, and give a nice idea what people in the days of long ago actually listened to.

Hi Derek:

I thought I'd add this to the info. Here's a Victrola VV-X (later renamed the VV-80) online owner's manual --
