New Find: Green HMV 102 Gramophone

So, as some of you know, I am studying in France. I had been looking for a nice, cheap HMV 102 since I arrived in January 2018, and they have been proving really elusive. That goes for phonographs and records generally. Some you know I also recently found a late blue 102. However, a week after I picked up the blue HMV 102, I came across this particular machine on Le Bon Coin. It was priced at 200 euros including shipping and records, so I bit the bullet, took a chance, and bought it as the price seemed so good. I really couldn't be happier with it. Save for a couple small scratches, this example is practically a brand new machine, and sounds amazing. I had forgotten how good the 102 can sound. I am hanging onto this one for a long, long time. I've been playing it practically every night!

If it hasn't got it you might well find one on EBay for £15 - 25. It will just add that finishing touch.

I wondered about the record tray. I will keep my eye out for one, as that would really come in handy when I move next month!

I purchased a similar green hmv 102, some weeks back, but yours is even nicer than mine, that also is looking pretty good:)
