I'm slowly selling some of the more prized early records in my collection.

This is an absolutely captivating 1897 recording by early recording artist, George Graham. Graham's Berliner recordings are very hard to find, especially this one:

#669 "A DAY IN A COUNTRY SCHOOL BY GEO. GRAHAM" "WASH. D.C."

This record plays great from start to finish and is announced by George Graham himself as follows:

"A DAY IN A COUNTRY SCHOOL BY GEORGE GRAHAM !!"

The recording begins with a nice old school bell ringing and then (Graham as the teacher) begins an arithmetic lesson followed by asking one of the kids to recite "Mary Had a Little Lamb"...the kid adds a funny 'twist' to the poem on the last verse! Finally, a kid tells the teacher "Tommy Brown stuck me with a PIN!!" and so forth.

This is an absolutely delightful glimpse into what was likely a typical day for a teacher in a country one-room schoolhouse. I've always treasured this particular Berliner (I'm actually hoping it doesn't sell  but will be happy for the new owner if it does!)

**There's typical scattered light scratches and scuffs for a 122 year old Berliner record but again, it plays great**

Thanks,
Doug
