Victor electric motor question

Post by spin78's »

Can anyone tell me what the ceramic coil things are that are attached to the lines going to the motor? These are about 3 inches long squared white pieces attached within the power wires. My other Victor electrics do not have these pieces...

I am not familiar either and would need to see pictures. In the old days, heavy wire coils around ceramic forms in series with power lines were meant as resistors to dissipate power and lower voltage. Expect these to get very hot. My VE-XVIII has 3 very large wire wound resistors in the cabinet.

Can you supply more information: Machine model, motor type, pictures, etc?

I'll try to get a photo. The one that I had came from a Credenza. I was asked this question from someone who has them on a VE-16
