Amazing Find: 1920 Pathé Actuelle
Last week I found a 1920 Pathé Actuelle Model H. They were asking $50 but got it for $25. She is almost done! Here are some before and after shots! The bottom cabinet shelf was missing so I made another from a wrecked 4-7 cabinet. Also was missing whole motor and board. Cone was damaged . Ordered a new cone from Buford Chidester and acquired the other parts from George Vollema! Can't wait to get her singing again! My Pathé VII phonograph is being sold and you can see her in the Yankee section!
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

The idea of finding a beautiful phonograph cabinet and returning it to working condition is a seductive idea. I saw a Brunswick upright for sale for $50. that was missing the motor, turntable and tonearm. I didn't buy it, because I have four phonographs now and my wife wouldn't want another one in the house. Congratulations on finding and restoring your Actuelle.

The Actuelle is the only floor model I have left on my most wanted list, how big and heavy are they compared to other machines?

The phonograph without the motor and board in it is not heavy at all!! You just have to be careful moving it as the doors open easily lol.AmberolaAndy wrote:The Actuelle is the only floor model I have left on my most wanted list, how big and heavy are they compared to other machines?
