How rare are these Pooley Automatic Record Cabinets?

Post by Tinkerbell »

Since I am new to this phonograph collecting arena, I have no clue how rare this type of item is. Because of the uniqueness (at least to my eye), and the name Pooley, it seems like it might be a collectible item (albeit pretty conservative looking... unlike the Herzog cylinder cabinets).

Any insight into this Pooley cabinet in terms of rarity, and what a reasonable value would be? :rose:

I wouldn't say "rare", but desirable. They're neat because of the ejection system. I've seen plenty of them around, but never one close enough to me to grab, unfortunately, but I've never seen one in oak which is curious to me. I'd jump on a nice one in oak (if they made them) and even pay shipping costs just so I'd have one to put my Victor III or V on!

They do come in various sizes in oak. I've got a couple. The one I currently have my Vic V on has well functioning casters making it very easy to move around.

I've not seen on of the sort currently posted on eBAY though.
