The 10" and 12" records were available in both formats until 1922. So, about two years.epigramophone wrote:This period advertisement makes it clear that the Actuelle records were lateral cut and that, for a while, the same titles were also available in Pathé vertical cut versions.

One of my 20" Pathé records has a paper label. It's the first style paper label that resembles the etched label.OrthoSean wrote: The 20 inch Pathé discs were all etched label inside start discs meant for the Concert machine as far as I know.

First of these I've seen, neat! Is it outside or inside start? That label looks almost like a facsimile of the etched label, which is also new to me.

I have one or two centre start Pathé discs with paper labels, and have always assumed that they date from the period of transition to edge start, around 1915.gramophoneshane wrote:It's an inside start like the etched label discs Sean.

They must have been very short-lived, like the first Edison paper labels, I'd assume. I've got a boat load of Pathé discs of all sizes and types, but I've never seen that label before, nor have I ever heard of a reference to these. Learned something new, love it!epigramophone wrote:I have one or two centre start Pathé discs with paper labels, and have always assumed that they date from the period of transition to edge start, around 1915.

Here are a couple of my centre start paper labels. On the larger one, evidence of an etched label can be seen beneath the paper one!
I had never noticed that until today.

The 20-inch (50 cm) Pathés were also issued with a black paper label. I have some of these. There is also a 16-inch later Pathé record, issued in the 20s with a white paper label, vertical cut and edge started.OrthoSean wrote: The 20 inch Pathé discs were all etched label inside start discs meant for the Concert machine as far as I know.

I have a couple of the 16 inch discs. It's just the inside start paper label Pathé discs that I've never seen or heard of.CarlosV wrote:There is also a 16-inch later Pathé record, issued in the 20s with a white paper label, vertical cut and edge started.
