Here is a very nice example of the Pathé Gaulois, which was a very obvious French rip-off of the Edison drip-pan Gem, combined with Pathé's Columbia-style floating reproducer arrangement. It is in excellent condition with exceptional paint and gilding. I am assuming the reproducer to be a replica but I really don't know for sure -- it looks very old. The horn is an excellent spun aluminum replica, with a very small dent on the rim (at the bottom in these pictures). It displays beautifully.
It runs but it has been sitting on a high shelf for decades so it really would need some cleaning and oiling to get it back into top running order. But these were never great machines for actual use, with an underpowered motor and rudimentary floating reproducer. I consider these to be showpieces rather than workhorses. There is no denying that they are cute and colorful, and they are wonderful artifacts of the Belle Époque.
The price is $750 plus shipping at cost.
