Need Help Identifying This Possible Victor VV-X? Tabletop

Post by davidjensen »

The tag says VV-X- but from the picture, I see online of other VV-Xs the trim is different.

See pictures

Let me know if you need more pictures.

The main reason I'm asking is the back panel is missing so I need to find the correct replacement to restore it.

I tried the Amazon photo thing. Doesn't work for me. Can you post the pics directly here?

Anyway, the X was made for quite a while. There were variations over the years which probably explains your observations.

That's a VV-X, but it started life as a full upright and had its cabinet, legs, and casters amputated.

Cut-off cabinet machines are basically parts donors. Considering a nice, complete VV-X console can usually be had for about $100, sometimes less, you'd do better parting this one out versus selling it whole.

On the bright side, a lot of VV-X machines are found missing all their internal parts. With the parts from this you could save one of them and have a nice original-style Victrola...
