Wanted - bottom trim for Victrola XVII back side

I need a bottom wood trim moulding for a Victrola 17. The piece on the bottom of the back side.
It is flat, not bowed like the sides. The unit is walnut but would take mahogany or any wood type

I need the left side and the back side. I'll let you know if I find an extra back side.

I may need to steel one off one of the other 17s I am restoring. Robbing Peter to pay Paul, either way I will need to replace it eventually. Do you know if they are difficult to remove without damaging the veneer edge? look like they are glued on, anyone removed one before with success?

If you can use a needle, or thin spatula and work vinegar down into the glue joint, it will let go. Heat will help with that of course, but I usually take a few days or a week and try to get that worked down in there a little at a time every day. And then see if the heat will finish popping it loose. Sometimes those fish bellies will pop right off with just heat, but I usually have them tear up the veneer about half the time doing it that way. I took them off a couple of XVI's a few years ago, but I think I've given them all away. Good luck with your project. XVII's are fairly common, but they can be hard to find when you need parts off one!

Mine had some water damage at the bottom so they were already lose. Well, actually, two of them were totally gone. The good one came off with stripper, mostly because it was painted blue, but the stripper also helped to eat the glue. I used heat on the upper ones and they came right off with a flat putty knife.

I ended up using a flat putty knife to work the piece off. it came off a Mahogany unit and is not on the Walnut 17 I am working on. I completely stripped the finish and restained with walnut stain. not the best option but looks like it is going to blend ok. its on the back anyway.

now I need to find a trim piece to replace the one I took off the mahogany one. robbing peter to pay paul.
