I have no idea how Gennett records came up with the name unless someone familiar with Portland and Hockey came up with it. The info I found tells me that the actual group that recorded these records was The Royal Troubadours. In reality these were label musicians from one or more bands that made this and many other recordings. I guess it gave the performers or the labels to make money off of the same musicians with different names on different labels. I put my research in the notes of the videos on YouTube if anyone wants to read more.
I wouldn't call these recordings tight or hot as many bands of the day are. But, they are pretty good performances and are what they are.
