Yes, a very authentic restoration of a very nice looking machine. Jerry B.

For your consideration: Here is a Columbia BII.

This is one of our most favored machines. Hence we dust and polish it regularly, and as a result, it has taken on a sheen that is almost like the opposite of patina, if there is such a thing.

Cheers, Russie and Lori

Russie -that Columbia is absolutely spectacular! It's no wonder it's a favorite! It would be mine, too! Here's my Columbia Favorite & Victrola VV-XIV Queen Anne.

Nice to see some great examples of more machines owned by the “common” folk. Not everyone could afford a Victrola XVI back then.

Here’s an early Amberola #75 from 1915.

My XVI. Lighting a little dimmer in the hall so doesn’t pop the oak in the picture like it should.
If need to discuss, just call me on the candlestick phone. BR-549..

Take care,
Terry

85 Corvetteman: is the candlestick phone Stromberg-Carlson or Kellog?

Nice Victrola!

Damfino59,
It’s a Kellogg. Has a patent date of 1901, 1907 and 1908 stamped into the back of the mouth piece. Not sure if the ringer box is correct for the phone but it does have a Kellogg sticker on it too which says Kellogg Switchboard and Supply - Chicago U.S.A.

The Victrola is great, but I love the old telephone! Great job finding one and a ringer-box with it too. Does it work?

My current phone is a Northern Electric Model 1 that is really quite nice, a bakelite desk phone that does a great job calling across the U.S. if need be, but I am thinking of getting a Western Electric 302 as well. There is one in a shop I know covered in brushed-on gold paint that should strip nicely. Of course, it will need proper clothcovered cords but it is all right.

But candlesticks and the old Stromberg-Carlson hotel phones are really interesting. Good find!
