Bruce, why don't you make a video of it playing. That way you won't get the flash. Film with sunlight coming into the room.

While the model profiled is the 10-35 Automatic Victrola, it uses the same style horn as the 8-9, 8-35, etc..

I think Carsten (in the video) kind of takes things to extremes, and it's been argued by some that the water pressure, itself, may have popped some of the seams and caused leaks. If this were mine, I'd probably just take it for granted that there were some leaks and work clear silicone calk into the seams as a precaution. It's kind of moot for me though, since any of the large Orthophonic models equipped with the metal horns are not compatible with living in an apartment building with thin walls and zero soundproofing.
