Edison Phonograph Presentation

Post by MikeB »

I organized an Edison phonograph demonstration at the library where I work, followed by a recording demonstration. We had a live performer, and the recording turned out fantastic. Here are a couple of photos from the demonstration, as well as links to a couple of YouTube videos of the recording.

Excellent idea! I've thought of doing something like this, but didn't think I'd get anyone interested.

This is a great thing to do. I bet you did have an interest. I live on Main street and I will take my phonographs out on the sidewalk , on nice days and people Will stop and listen. I also take my recording machine to the park, only a block from my house and practice recording with the community band. I give them a CD of how the cylinders turned out, good or bad. Recording outside, a live performance on wax cylinder has challenges. So regular attendees of the concert (plays about 3 times a month from April-October.)
