Last year at the ARSC conference I brought a copy of an only-known-copy Diamond Disc to give to the nice people who usually attend from UCSB. As luck would have it, I was able to give the disc to David Seubert, Curator, Performing Arts Collection. David appreciated the novelty of it and we kept in touch, discussing how we could make rare recordings from the UCSB Library accessible to collectors. Along with the input from a few members of this forum, I decided on the discs below, all of which are in approximately mint condition.
Many of these are "once in a lifetime" discs.
It will take me nearly two weeks labor and cost in excess of $1,000 to mold these. While I'm happy to do it regardless, it would be appreciated if some would prepay for copies now, with delivery expected in February. These will be made available at the usual price of $40 each and $5 shipping per order in the continental USA.
They will be unique copies in that they'll be marked in the run-out area as being from the UCSB Library (similar to the mock-up pic below).
This is the first large institution to loan discs for physical duplication, we should be very grateful to the University's Performing Arts Collection and David Seubert for wanting to make their collection more accessible.
The following discs are being copied, they'll be singe-sided. I can accommodate up to 3 advance copies of each side. There are a few sides that I'm not familiar with and can't find online; those may not be copied, depending on interest and whether it's a good song...

Hi Don! So happy that you're able to expand your catalog even further with this loan of more rare diamond discs. You know that I am still trying to secure a copy of Edison DD #52505 "Let's Do It Let's Fall In Love." Since my copy was damaged and not viable for copying or playing any longer. I would donate to your worthy cause if you could secure that record also to copy. I will e-mail you about other purchases I wish to make. Again, I am so happy for you and know you will get tons of support!donniej wrote:Last year at the ARSC conference I brought a copy of an only-known-copy Diamond Disc to give to the nice people who usually attend from UCSB.
