This is a chop job Edison right?

Has anyone ever seen this as being a special order type Edison or
is it just some homemade crapison?

lol, definately a crapison. It might come in handy to store your tinned fruit in the fridge though :)
Or perhaps you could make an interesting ant farm in the plastic base.

Hmmm, I was thinking more along the lines of an early bass-o-matic, made famous on Saturday Night Live. You put in your bass, turn on the music, and in 2 minutes, a delicious bass and banana shake!

Every time I see this sort of creation I think the person who did it needs to get out WAY more and perhaps do a little volunteer work. :D

It it is cheap enough, it might be worth buying for parts. Looks like it came from a Fireside Model A.

My thoughts also. Although hard to tell for sure from the pictures, it appears only a proper case would be needed to complete it. If it was local to me I would attempt a lowball offer.
