Rudy Vallee Discography/Biography

Post by msarnold1990 »

Wondering if there is a complete Rudy Vallee Discography? I'm hoping to fill in holes in my collection.

Also, is there a good biography of him. I know he wrote an autobiography and revised it several times...is it worth reading? Most times autobiographies are kind of self serving and tedious.

If it will help, I can scan my copy of Rust's dance band discography for Vallee which is 12 pages and covers 1928-6. Feb. 1942. It's not "complete", though, due to the cut off date (which is where it seems Rust loses interest for some reason), and also the fact that the Bolton/ Cipriano and Edison Yale Collegians "Les Laden" discs are listed separately (and who knows what else might be out there!)

I don't know of anything "comprehensive" in either case- most likely what you'll have is a myriad of sources for both the discog and biography.

Are you aware of this book? Sounds interesting!
