Interesting, has some characteristic Canadian version details. Different back bracket pin striping, different construction of the tone arm & horn elbow as well. Notice, the tone arm has the bottom pivot point cast into it, versus soldered on as the US version is. Also, the horn elbow is cast construction in the elbow portion, with the flared area attached as a separate piece. You can just make out the seam.

I'm going with relocated. Looks like it's had a wide slot, cut from the top of the cabinet, going ¾ of the way down.

I don’t have a III to compare motors, but the arm for the speed control has been modified and there seems to be a couple extra holes in the motor board and some filled holes too.
