5. Rarely found circa 1901 7-INCH "Zonophone Records" box. Very rough condition. Missing couple sides, missing a few record separators. Has some spine repairs. $40

Doug did NOT put me up to this (hell, he doesn’t even like me), but I just want to say:

If you like to listen to hot old jazz, and enjoy the amazing quality of Diamond Discs, you owe it to yourself to get a copy of this record. Awesome performances on both sides and incredible recordings that are so brilliant they sound electrically recorded. It’s my all time favorite DD and I use Sweet Man as a demonstration of how fantastic the Edison acoustic recordings can sound...that first long trumpet note especially.

Do yourself a favor. Great price, too:

Thank you for the unsolicited commentary, Peter. This record is indeed still available and I completely agree with Peter's assessment. Many Golden Gate Orchestra / California Ramblers recordings on Edison are outstanding. There was some really good stuff on Edison especially from about 1924 and after.
