Post by Radio Ron »

Is there a source for replacement decals for those used on C-200 phonographs?

There are many places that sell replacement decals, but the quality varies. I've never bought any from Wyatts, so I have no idea how good they (anybody??), but "rumor has it" the very best reproductions are made by a gentleman named Greg Cline. I can send you his email addy if you like.

Wyatt's could be good too but I do know that the Greg Kline decals are fantastic.

It's not a rumor... Greg's decals are the best. He has raised the standards of decal excellence. If you follow his simple instructions, you'll be delighted with the results. The best part is his ability to make decals that are generally not available. If you have an unusual machine that needs a decal and you can find another similar machine, all you need is a good photo and Greg can make a decal. He asks for an excellent photo and the exact size of the decal. I remember seeing a Kalamazoo Duplex at Union a couple of years ago. I would have sworn that the decal was original but it was one of Greg's. In the old days you could spot a new banner decal from across the parking lot at Union. Now you need to get out a magnifying glass to check. Jerry Blais

OK...I'm going to have to ask for Greg's email as well. I know I purchased from him in the past, and he used to have a website with his "catalog" which no longer seems to be up...so if anyone would PM me with the email, I would forever be in your debt.

Zeppy,
Check your PM box. I sent the addy I have for him.

John

PS, I know I have a reputation on the board as a spelling nazi and a picker of nits, but Gregg's name has two 'g's in it.

Is there some sort of secret about Mr. Cline's contact info that the rest of us who are not in the phonograph clique are not supposed to know? :?

(BTW, his name has 3 G's in it... 1 large, 2 small)

I can only speak for myself here, but I dont see it as a secret so much as etiquette.
I've never delt with Mr Cline, but only have his address in my records because I have heard such good things from so many people over they years about his decals.
Also, Gregg doesn't have a website, and I wont plaster his email address all over the web, otherwise he will get bombarded with spam, and I wouldn't wish that on anybody. Especially someone who is doing a great service for the phono community.
If anyone wants his email address, all they have to do is ask, but personally, I just dont like publishing someone elses personal imformation (which I consider an email addy to be) on a public forum.
If he had a website set up, I'd have no problem providing the link for all to see.
