I just wanted to point out that the grill, which is worth about what you paid for the entire machine, is installed upside down. Easy to fix.

I have the same problem with an Edison Beethoven. JWB is right in that you need experience before taking on this project. I was told by Uncle Vanya to not use alcohol to reflow the finish, because I'm not experienced enough to do it. He told me to to use 0000 steel wool dipped in turpentine to lightly scrub it down. That's after you clean it with Goop. Then paste wax it and buff to a high polish.

Thanks! I have got a Victrola that could probably stand the turpentine treatment; it certainly needs to be cleaned up. I've already GOJO'ed it back in 2015 but it had a thinning finish due to 50 years of barn storage. This will help me figure out how to make it pretty.

I may try this as some point. I want to fix the Edison home first haha
