I'm having trouble getting that little piece out. I hate to think I have to get another reproducer, but that may be necessary. Any good source for inexpensive ones that will fit?

Just totally remove the screw from the needle bar, then try it...

OK, so I put the machine away and went to the hardware store to buy a precision tweezers. I came home and found that the piece had dropped out on its own. So I'm good to go. I tried it with one of the soft needles and it sounded fine. It's intresting how the tonearm actually conveys the sound to the grilled port in the back. I'll try to find a thumscrew with the same thread as that screw.
