I'm working on a VV-XI for a friend and found this strange ring in the tonearm mount between the tonearm and the ball bearings. I don't remember ever seeing this, so asking the question if it should be there. I also wonder since it has this small hole that would line up with the small hole in the tonearm, if it should be screwed or riveted together? Is it supposed to better glide on the ball bearings? Thanks for any input.

Re: Strange ring in VV-XI tonearm
It belongs there. I've seen several like that. I believe there should be a pin to connect it to the arm. If memory serves, I believe that pin also extends about ⅛" into the arm and acts as the "stop pin" to limit the swing of the tone arm.

Thank you very much for the confirmation. Would you or anyone else maybe have a picture of what this pin should look like from the inside and the outside.JerryVan wrote:It belongs there. Thanks again
