Machined out of solid brass, these are being sold at cost. I’m a collector, not a dealer! Copied from my original oil plug, these fit the Edison Opera, Opera Schoolhouse, Amberola 1-A and B. My Opera holds 5 oil plugs and my 1-A holds 3. Most machines originally came with oil plugs which have been lost over time.
$10 EACH plus $5 s/h in the US for your whole order.

Did the Amberola V use these too?

For what it's worth, according to Wendell Moore in the early 80s, these were used on the Opera and School phono, and Amberola 1A, 1B, and III.

I received my oil plugs yesterday. They look and work really well. Until very recently I had never even heard of them, but they do add a little something extra to my Opera. It is fun to find you "need" something you didn't even know existed in the past. Great job!

Re: FOR SALE: Edison Opera /Amberola 1-A & B brass oil plug
I got mine yesterday for both my Opera and Amberola 1A. They are beautifully done! It's easy to see why they have mostly been lost over the years. They're tiny and there's nothing holding them in place beyond gravity. Definitely easy to lose. I'll be careful when I dust.
I 'aged' them with a dilute patina solution to darken them just enough to match the escutcheons into which they fit. They look like they've been there for over 100 years.
Thanks so much to Brett for making these available again.

My set of oil plugs came in the mail today. These sure look great and it's nice to see them on the Opera.
Great job Brett!
Thanks!
