My New Edison 2-Clip Edison Standard

Post by rgordon939 »

Found this on eBay. It’s an exceptionally nice 1898 Edison "2-Clip" Standard Phonograph with an original 18" all-brass horn, an original folding horn crane, an original Edison shaving assembly, an original cylinder dust brush, an original Edison Automatic Reproducer, an original Edison Recorder in its original box. Thank you Grant Kornberg fo such a beautiful machine.

That's my old machine I did a bunch conservation work to a few years back and sold here when I decided to forgo cylinders. Recognize the repro and recorder? :D You and I traded for a Standard Speaker a few years back. I sold it to a member in Fla. who I guess then also moved it on. Glad it wound up with you!

It's a really nice machine. Congrats!

Need to add that Wyatt worked some modification magic on that repro to make it sound better than it was ever designed to!

I saw that on eBay. Beautiful machine! I have a real soft spot for suitcase Standards. That's a winner.

Wow! Very nice! It must have been hard for the seller(s) to give up such a lovely machine!

Yes, kind of sad to see it go (especially at that price :P ) but very happy that it wound up with Rich.
