Blue Chinoiserie HMV on UK eBay.

Post by epigramophone »

This HMV Model 12, or it's successor the Model 175, was probably decorated to the order of a prestigious dealer.

Superb! I love it! Excellent example of a machine decorated shortly after it left the factory. I love the blue background and the decoration.

I love it too... very unusual. I like the black versions, also, but this blue is striking...
That ugly Buddha and bowl certainly detract from the presentation, along with the curtain...

I can live with that. :D Today's collectors have a wonderful variety because original buyers bought what they liked. A few years ago, here on the Forum, someone made the comment that they wouldn't pay $500 for a decorated talking machine. I tried to call his bluff and said I'd buy every one I could find for $500 and travel around the country to retrieve them. Someone actually sold me one for $500 and I took delivery at Union that year. Anyone this year??? How about a Vernis Martin machine?

If it was in the states, it would be gone already...
