I just brought home a model 117 Brunswick machine. I may be being an idiot and trying to close the lid incorreclty, but it seems to be jammed! I can't close it. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!!

Re: Lid support Jammed?
I am not familiar with the Brunswick lid supports, outside of the later spring-loaded ones, but have you tried simply pulling the support rod gently toward you while lowering the lid? *Do not* pull it forward without holding onto the lid, as if it does release, the lid would come down hard, possibly injuring you and certainly not doing the lid any good. Yours looks like the type of support that catches as the lid is raised fully and then has to be manually pulled forward as the lid is lowered. The earlier Victrola lid supports worked in this manner (aside from the air dashpots or spring-assisted supports).

I'm glad it was that simple. Your Brunswick is a beautiful machine . . . and . . . welcome to the Forum!
