Which Victrola model is this?

Post by Starkton »

Below is a part of a concert poster printed in 1967. Two musicians of the psychedelic band "The Charlatans" are leaning against a, presumably, Victrola. Is it possible to identify the model? (I presume that the latest hit of the "13th Floor Elevators" is on the turntable.) Unluckily, the graphic is very dim.

I'm almost certain it's a Victrola XI, the locking lid and corner moldings are just like the ones used on the earlier floor model XIs.

Thank you OrthoSean. Does everybody agree to his estimation?

It certainly appears to be an XI. Like Sean said, the locking lid and corner molding is a giveaway.

Unless they are very tall people in the picture, it's hard to imagine that it could be a bigger model and the later models took on different shape.
