Yesterday I picked up an Electric Brunswick Valencia Panatrope console phonograph in decent condition. It's complete and sounds amazing! It's my first Panatrope and couldn't pass it up for $80.
Does anyone know the approximate year of manufacture of the Valencia model?
Thanks!

Yes, 1928. Please post photos of your Panatrope. Some of the amplifier would be nice too.

Here are some pics. The Panatrope reproducer doesn't have the original needle thumb screw but has another one that works.
I'll post another pic of the horn later.

Now that's about perfect--acoustic sound with electric convenience! And a Panatrope will play an acoustic disc just as well as it will play an electric. You have a phonograph and a half, and in a nice cabinet too.

These have great sound with that spruce horn. It's related to the great Cortez Panatrope, just with a smaller horn. A steal for $80. Cheneys also used a spruce horn but look totally different.

Yes the Valencia has great sound and I'll provide pics of the horn when I get a chance. This was a nice and lucky find for me.

If you are a member of the Antique phonograph society there is a Brunswick book downloadable for members only I think. Worth joining for just that book. Neil

Re: My First Panatrope
These really do sound great.
I actually think Brunswick electrics generally sound better on my Brunswick than they do on my HMV 202.
The soundbox and horn are obviously well matched to their recording process.
I have the Madrid console, which is the same works in a different cabinet.
I believe my machine was introduced in 1926, and here in Australia the Valencia was advertised as a new model in January 1927, so I suspect it was available in USA in late 1926.
The Madrid was priced at US$165, and the Valencia was US$225 or an extra $35 with an electric motor.
