Phonograph cartoon from 1920

I'm scanning this before it disintegrates! It's an episode from a collection of Clare Brigg's Mr and Mrs strips. This was a domestic comedy involving the husband ,Jo and Violet his wife. It's quite funny and has a very contemporary feel to it, oddly enough. The examination of married life is uncannily accurate,
In this one "She's Too Sensitive" ..in a two part scan... is obviously from around New Year's. Jo isn't listening to anything but the Victrola and Violet, in the way of wives, wants to talk seriously .

Oh, that's a hoot! Thanks for posting it. The vertical format is interesting. Was it published "in the papers" or in a magazine?

The cartoons appeared in the Hearst newspapers and I think they were a Sunday funnies thing. And they're all funny!

Well the cartoon could be from 1920 but the conversation could well be from 2010... at our house from time to time.

I have to admit playing a few more records can seem much more interesting than talking about saving $$$ or making New Year resolutions...
