Has anyone heard of a Vogue phonograph?

Post by Detrbear »

This was posted to Facebook Marketplace, had been on Craigslist a month or two ago. Asked seller then for a picture inside the lid and any other information.

Considering the rather low serial number, maybe this was a company that was late to the party and quickly vanished in the crash?

Clearly a knockoff of the old Victrola Consolette; the scallops on the bottom of the cabinet give it away.

The machine is probably 1927-1930. There are likely very few in existence, and I would suggest grabbing it if you have room. I love Consolettes (haven't found one yet though) and I love off-brands. This was a treat to see; thanks for posting.

This kind of reminds me of one of the smaller Panatropes.

It looks to be in good shape, but they want $360, and for that I'd rather have a nice Viva Tonal.

There is a ton of off brand machines that show up all the time, but not Vogue's. The price is way too high though. The nice thing is you can negotiate with the seller.
"You can't take the phonographs nor the money with you, but the contentment the phonographs bring may well make your life better, and happier lives make the world a better place."
