Opera reproducer Model L alternative
I’ve got an Opera Model L reproducer and I think it might be the source of some sound issues for my Opera. I wanted to swap it out to see if a different reproducer would eliminate my sound issues. Another Model L would be pricey though. Are there any other reproducers that I could use in place of my current Model L that would be reasonably affordable? Thanks in advance for any advice!

The Diamond A and M reproducers will fit your Opera. However, the M is a 2/4 flip over reproducer, and since you can't play 2 minute records on an Opera, it should not be your first choice.

A Diamond A Reproducer will give you the best results with Blue Amberol records. (This will set you back about $650).
Your L Reproducer may just need a rebuild or rotation or replacement of the stylus. (This would probably be the most cost effective solution).

An excellent suggestion made by Bruce Johnson on a previous thread and it really applies to your situation. It would be money well spent. Jerry B.You might want to consider just getting your existing standard reproducer rebuilt. It will sound fantastic if you have Steve Medved or Wyatt Marcus do the rebuild.
