My local charity shops (thrift stores) are constantly throwing out piles of LP records. The artists include things like (trying to think what i've seen in the last week or so!);

Russ Conway, Max Bygraves, Nana Mouskouri, Des O'Connor, Nina and Frederick, James Last, The Spinners (folk), Top of the Pops - cover artists (that 'nearly' sound like the real thing), Val Doonican, Orchestral covers of movie hits and themes, Ray Conniff, James Galway, Jim Reeves etc.

These are thrown out because they are seen as having absolutely no re-sale value and therefore end-up in landfill and sadly don't even get the chance to become a clock.

I guess Des O'Connor would be about the least valuable, if they had a value. There's probably some British artists here you've never heard of so i'm wondering what the least collectable artists in the US would be? What would you local thrift store throw out?

Oh my gosh! I keep thinking of more artists and titles that 'frequently' receive top billing in the charity shop dumpsters...

South Pacific, Mantovani, the Geoff Love Orch, The sound of music...

I am interested in all forms of audio media including: gramophones, phonographs, wire recorders, the tefifon, reel to reel tapes, radiograms and radios.

The shown label "The Cole Porter Songs Book Vol.1" is clearly a photoshop mockup. There's even no center hole. As long as the seller knows what records are worthless (e.g. records that you cannot even give away) I do not see a point in public shaming for re-purposing them - unless someone is afraid of not being able to build up yet another James Last collection. :lol:

Oh my! You mind reader! I could have written that myself. I even saw the pan pipes last week!

I was going to say Des O'Connor is probably the least valuable and most offensive... but I didn't want to offend anyone. Please let's not forget The Mike Sammes Singers and I notice singing nuns have put in a lot of appearances recently.
