Well the FedEx truck came this morning and delivery the Edison 2-clip Standard I bought from Grant Kornberg. I quickly unpacked it and played a cylinder. It is an absolutely beautiful all original machine if I say so myself. Thank you Grant for the great packing job.

Re: New Machined Arrived Today
Rich,
That was indeed a nice machine. Grant is a super-conscientious seller with great stuff.
But even more important is your spreading the word. All too often people only voice complaints, but from past experience I know you are just the opposite.
Stay well,
Raphael

Re: New Machined Arrived Today
No they didn’t. The earliest machines did not have a gear covers. As machines were build there was a mix of machines with and without gear covers. As far as I know the highest serial number Model A without a gear cover is 4918.fmblizz wrote:Beautiful machine Rich,,, can you tell me if all the 2 clip machines had a gear cover??

Thanks for your kind words, Rich. And thank you too, Raphael. Sentiments from both of you are very much appreciated.

That is a stunningly clean and nice 2-clip Standard. Thanks for showing it!

That is either an expert refinish or the cleanest original I've seen in a long, long time. How did it survive all those years looking so good?
Hope it sounds as nice as it looks.

Looks like the photo's from the auction do a better job of showing the actual color of the finish. That is either an expert refinish or the cleanest original I've seen in a long, long time. How did it survive all those years looking so good?
My assessment is that it is 100% original.

Here’s a video of the machine playing a 2-min. brown wax cylinder.

Very nice example, Rich! In the video it looks like you may have a type 2 patent plate (last patent May 31, 1898) - is that what it is? If you don't mind sharing the serial number, I'd love to add it to the the Standard Data project. Have fun with it!
