Lauzon Update - Finally Completed

I bought this William & Mary Period Lauzon phonograph in Greenville, Mi around Thanksgiving in 2014. I finally finished getting it back in working order and couldn't have done it without the help of Ken Brekke who provided the replacement motor for it. It needed a few details, like replacing the green velvet turntable covering, speaker cloth and a replacement tonearm/reproducer along with rewiring the lamp near the turntable. I was lucky enough to find a NOS Jewel tonearm and reproducer, which was a period upgrade to use on any phonograph and plays both lateral and vertical records... So, after all these years it is back in playing condition...

Now that's a beautiful machine. Congrats on all the hard word. Finding those parts would be a daunting task. I'm not sure I would have taken the chance on finding things. But, you did it!

Beautiful machine, and I think it solves a mystery. This listing has been up on the local Craigslist for some weeks now, billed as an Edison phonograph, going nowhere at $225, and I kept wondering what it was--definitely not an Edison as advertised, although not entirely unlike one of the fancy Edison cabinets. Looking at yours, I'm wondering if it might well be another Lauzon, a name about which I know nothing beyond what's in your posting. Does it look like one to you? If so, does the mechanism look "right," or has the hardware been swapped out? That off-center doughnut at the base of the tonearm in particular looks very odd to my eye.

I agree with everyone else that it's a real beauty. Well worth the effort you made to restore it. I do enjoy seeing cabinets with the original finish. The embellishments look perfect.
