"Infantry Calls no. 1," Indestructible 2 minute cylinder 1308, in which one Fletcher gives us the sounds by which US soldiers received commands in the field in the days before portable electronic communications. The recording predates World War I by a few years.

As an aside, can anybody tell me how to embed video in forum posts? No matter what I try (the YouTube embed code, putting the plain URL in "YouTube" flags, etc.) it just comes up as the URL and maybe associated bracketed commands.
