Motor Board Screw Compatability Question

Post by antique1973 »

I sold a 1912 VV-XI yesterday and two of the motor board (topside corner screws) were missing. I wanted to help out the buyer and give them two screws off of an early model 1916 VV-IX I am restoring as they seem to be the same size. Are you folks aware if they are in fact the same size and should fit? Thank you for any info.

I *believe* Victor used pretty much the same diameter and thread for these screws, though obviously the lengths may vary by model. I know I've robbed one machine to complete another before.

I had to search a while to find the right motor board screws for my 1912 victrola XI, I seem to recall that they were a touch narrower, or finer thread maybe, than the later motor board screws. I don't know when the size was changed, so perhaps the 1916 version will fit OK.
