Edison Home Suitcase 4 Clip date

Hey everyone,

I’ve got an Edison Home 4 clip suitcase phonograph with the banner in the lid with a serial number of 3200. It has a brass mandrel. Can anyone tell me when it left the factory? Thank you!

Where did you get that listing? I would be grateful to have a copy of the entire listing. If it's in a book then in which book is it featured? Do you have a listing of production dates for other Edison models? This information would be greatly appreciated by many of us here I'm sure.

That short graph was taken - without permission - from an article I wrote for the Antique Phonograph Society and published in the September 2006 issue of its magazine. The article was focused on Edison "suitcase" Homes, and believe it or not it's protected by copyright (like all articles that appear in the magazine).

The original Edison sales data exists for all Edison models from 1896-May 1908, but I do not yet have permission to publish my serial number extrapolations. I can, however, provide dates for individual machines, and I have done so for collectors since 2012.

I politely ask AmberolaAndy to delete the image above which was taken from my article.

Thanks for the link, Andy. The original pirated image was posted months ago, uncredited and without permission, by someone who should know better. Strangely, I contributed a couple of posts to that thread, but never noticed it!

Well, now that’s all settled... OP you’re the guy who bought that very low S/N Edison Standard a few months back. What’s the progress on that? And what’s your secret on getting those 1890s machines? I’ve always been curious to see how the reproducer is held in with those early 1902 and older machines.
