Nice phonograph. Congratulations! I’ve been trying to decide whether to buy this for my 2-55. Might be worth a https://www.ebay.com/itm/323953329448

Re: New portable with some questions
A phonograph like this is for taking with you to the beach or the park. Try carrying a phonograph and a selection of records from a parking lot to where you plan to sit by a stream and play records. My 2-65 had an intact handle, but that lasted about a month and a half. The reason all those suitcase handles broke is because it's impractical to use a handle like that in normal use. It's a lot easier to put the records in a courier bag and sling the phonograph over your shoulder. This is a phonograph for using, not one to be put on a pedestal and dusted with a feather duster. I use mine all the time and I've taken it everywhere. It isn't as heavy as the VV-50, but it isn't light either. The sound of this phonograph in the open air is fantastic.VanEpsFan1914 wrote: it's a suitcase, not a purse

Would it also be permissible to bring it to a campground?bigshot wrote:A phonograph like this is for taking with you to the beach or the park. I plan on bringing this on picnics with my girlfriend, and to school, and wherever else cause it’s so easy to carry

Yeah it does sound great in open air as well. I played some tunes at the end of my driveway yesterday and people seemed to enjoy it

Re: New portable with some questions
A few years ago, I would go to a local Starbucks every Sunday afternoon and sit on the patio with my chihuahua and play 20s dance band records. It was a lot of fun.
