Windsor Orchestra - Brunswick records information needed?

Post by Edisonfan »

Anyone have any information on the Windsor Orchestra from Brunswick Records? I am coming up empty handed? Google is no good, I either find the Windsor Symphony orchestra or a Jazz Ensemble, created a few years ago.

Here is what DAHR lists for them. Only one Brunswick.

Rust lists this as actually being the Windsor Hotel Orchestra, their lone Brunswick side was recorded in NYC in July 1921, instrumentation and personnel unknown. Obviously an NYC "society" hotel band. Some of their later recordings included vocalists Lester O'Keefe, Frank Wright, and Frank Bessinger. They seem to have recorded the bulk of their output between September 1925 and June 1926 on Vocalion, which was a Brunswick subsidy by then. "Windsor Orchestra" was also used as a pseudonym by a number of other bands on the Grafton label.

I’m going to go with pseudonym. Only because the Windsor hotel in NYC burned down in 1899.

The other possibility is from Montreal.
