It is a devise which sucks paper chards and dirt from a player piano tracker bar.

Not a common one, either. Well worth preservation. Most use a aluminum cylinder with a piston, valve and nozzle. I doubt it still works as the rubber coated cloth will be full of microscopic holes. The cloth could be replaced-or just preserve it as it is.

This is fascinating; a tiny, single-purpose vacuum cleaner just to keep a player piano working. I can imagine a serious music lover keeping one of these handy just as we might keep a record duster or Blue Amberol reamer.
