Also, Here are some pics below of a "typical" Babson Amberola 30 stand. It's kind of a cross between a Victor cabinet style and an Amberola 75 cabinet..simple, yet ingenious and tasteful...As I said before...Most of these turn up in Pennsylvania for some unknown reason and I don't know why... The Amberola 30 literally "Drops right in" to the top of the cabinet.. If you notice in the pics below, There are two different styles...Near identical, but slightly different...look at the doors...

I had vaguely remembered a stand very much like the first one shown for sale. It took me a while to remember that the one I was thinking of was actually for a Victor VV-50 portable. Here's a link to that thread for comparison.

Any idea why the recorder cannot be used in the same "special" H reproducer reducing ring?

The ICS teaching program remained the same--you would still record your progress and your recorded cylinder was sent for evaluation of your progress! As best as I can remember from my ICS booklet, featuring the Amberola 30 (I'm not at home at the moment and don't have access to it), you simply used a small horn with an elbow to place on the recorder to record your language lesson on to your wax blank. You did not record using the amberola 30 horn! You would have had to have had the side of the neck of the recorder drilled out, as in the specially modified Model H reproducer. This was never done by the factory.

But couldn't you use an elbow and external 14" horn to record just as easily? I wasn't suggesting that you would use the 30's horn.

Yes, that is exactly what was done! That is what I meant. And it would be really awkward to record in that Amberola 30 horn anyway—lol! Is that you Scott?

In fact, until a previous poster here showed his green tinted 4 minute recorder in the Amberola 30 ICS adaptor, I had forgotten all about the need for a 4 minute recorder for this setup. I will have to revisit that little ICS booklet I have, featuring the 30, and post some pictures here. I was fortunate to get it when I bought my first ICS Amberola 30.
